Every year the UNISON North West Young Members’ Forum send 2 delegates to attend the Cuba Solidarity May Day Brigade trip to Cuba. The trip is 13 nights from the end of April – start of May 2026 (Exact dates TBC).
The Brigade is a unique opportunity for activists to participate in practical solidarity work and discover the reality of life for Cubans living under the illegal US blockade of their country. It is part of UNISON’s ongoing commitment to internationalism and solidarity with Cuba.
Important info:
- 1 of the 2 delegates must identify as a woman
- You must fill out an application form and email it to G.Ashworth@unison.co.uk
- The deadline to apply is Monday 5th January 2026
- You can write up to 2 pages on the application form about why you would like to attend
- A meeting between myself, the co-chairs and members of the region’s International Committee will meet in January to look-over the applications and select the 2 delegates.
