Mitie Consultation

Following a campaign by Domestics and Domestic Supervisors working across East Lancashire on the Mitie-CHP contract, Mitie and CHP have made a significant offer for members to consider.

UNISON is running a consultative ballot of members on the contract to determine whether you wish to accept or reject the offer.

The dispute was over four issues and the employer’s offer regarding each issue is summarised below. You can see the full text at the link at the bottom of this page.

1) Payroll
•Provision of a new manager (Lucas) with responsibility for correcting payroll issues.
•121 meetings with manager for every member of staff to go through last six months of pay slips – with union support at each.
•Assurance that during any annual leave or sickness you will always be provided with a management contact for correcting payroll.
•Commitment to 6 months of meetings between Mitie and UNISON to address payroll concerns as they come up and share rate of errors to demonstrate improvement. All issues from these meetings escalated to Mitie senior management.

2) Supervisor Banding
•Supervisors to receive further back pay to October 2023.
•Confirmation that Band 3 supervisors will remain linked to the top of Band 3 Agenda for Change pay. Supervisors will be informed by letter of where they stand on the pay scale – all are at the top of the band.

3) Covid Lump Sum
•All staff on full Agenda for Change contracts to receive the Covid lump sum of £1,655 on a pro-rata basis dependent on hours worked. Those on commercial contracts will not receive this lump sum.

4) Agenda for Change Parity for those on Commercial Contracts
• There has been no movement on this issue from the employer.

Alongside this, the employer has signed a return to work agreement committing to no discrimination for any employee as a result of taking part in this action.

The ballot is open to all UNISON members working as Domestics and Domestic Supervisors on this contract.

It’s vital you use your vote so that this issue can be progressed. You can vote via this page before the deadline of 11:59pm, Wednesday 13th August.
