8 November 2023 7:00pm–8:00pm
Our health and social care services depend on migrant workers to function, but staff moving here from abroad to work in these settings face many challenges.
UNISON is the UK’s largest union, and we are holding a free event for migrant workers in November to discuss how being part of a trade union can help you tackle difficulties at work and beyond, as well as having access to advice, support and representation.
From workplace difficulties and racism to housing and visas, we’ll be discussing how we can overcome these challenges together, with some expert speakers on hand to answer your questions.
Speakers:
Narmada Thiranagama, UNISON Migrant Workers Unit
Sairah Javed, Helpline Manager, Joint Committee for the Welfare of Immigrants
Michelle England, UNISON NW Health Chair
UNISON - the union for migrant workers in health and social care
